Good morning all,

I had a hen go Broody 21 days ago. My hens lay their eggs in milk crates. So as of right now she is sitting on eggs that are about to hatch (hopefully) and I don't know when or how to tip the crate over so that the chicks can get out and to the water?

Any suggestions?

Can she get out of the crate without tipping it? I assume so. You could leave it until she comes out of the crate on her own, and tries to call the chicks out, then tip the crate on it's side. Or you could wait until you think they've all hatched, then fix the set up. Ideally, it would be better to fix an issue like that mid way through the incubation. You know your set up best, so I'm sure you'll find the solution that will work best for her! Good luck, and congrats!

There is now one egg unbroken OUT of the crate!?
