I have a 3yr old Golden Laced Wyandotte, this is her first Hatch she is aways from the other chickens. I thought her eggs would hatch 12 or 13th. They didn't I know some can go to 25days.
Well this morning we found a new hatchling outside the box and another one dead on the otherwise. When I looks at the video I was horrified to seen that my hen was pecking then and throwing them around like food! She threw them outside the nest. The dead one hatched last night and she was just tossing around the enclosed like food 😭
My husband heard the one from this morning and saved it we put it in the incubator.
But whyyy she was sitting so well and now this!

I removed the remaining eggs that are pipped and put them in my incubator. I'm so bummed.
It is disappointing when you have a hen, like this.

I always start them out young, between 6 months old, to 1year if they go broody at that age. I get to see who's a good mama/sitter by doing this.
