I have a Blue Cochin hen that had gone Broody for the 3rd time in 7 months. On day 3 another hen tried to use the nest and they ended up breaking one of the eggs. That night I moved the Broody hen (moved her the second time she was broody also) to a shelf over the Brooder. When I checked on her this morning she was not on the eggs & they were cold. Left her in the shed. Went to work. Came home this afternoon and she still hasn't returned to the nest.
My question is, are the eggs ruined? Last nights temp here in MO went down to about 72, and up to 100 this afternoon. I can put the eggs in my incubator if there is a good chance they would still be good.
Any advice??
