If this ain’t the cutest thing ever!!!

So our mama mallard still had eggs in her nest on Thursday when the rest had hatched and she got off of her nest. I candled the rest and saw one had piped through and was still moving a lot.
Long story short- the baby was left in the nest the mama wasn’t sitting on anymore, and today was still moving and not making progress hatching so I assisted.

The chick is a bantam who hatched today also under its mama. Then he got away from mama and she tried to peck it, like repeatedly hard (notice the peck marks on the ear and beak). I snatched this baby up while I was trying to hatch the duck, and it only wanted to be by me, so I put him in my bra (swim top) while I got the duck out of the egg.

Now they’re all snuggled up together
