Broody hen problems

Ok so my hen went broody in April so I let her set for about a week then put chicks under her. She took them and all went well. About a month ago my dog killed 2 of them so she was down to one chick. She is doing great even tho she was supposed to be a barred rock and is actually a black star. Well now for about 2 days my hen is back at it. Will not get off the nest. I kicked her off the main nest and shut the door only to find her in another nest the next day I kicked her off and put her on the roost at night and same thing again back at it she is reluctant to stop being broody. The chick has adjusted to the flock nicely and is fine without her and is about 3 months old now. How do i keep her from brooding.....i read about a brooding box but the temps are in the 90ies and I don't want to risk putting her in it and her overhearing and dieing. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

A wire dog cage/crate raised off the floor with no nest in it, only food and water for a few days, should do the trick.

I have a broody hen that I'm trying to break... sort of. She wants to nest in a coop that I don't want her being broody in. She can go the other coop if she wants, but that's not happening. I had to share this picture of where she's decided to do her broody thing. One of the funniest things I've seen my chickens do. The wooden coop in the background is where she's locked out of.

Wire crate works for me, just broke one last week.
Almost gave her eggs but decided I didn't want to deal with the risk of hot weather in the broody nest.

Maybe you know all this already but:
My first experience went like this: After her setting for 3 days and nights in the nest, I put her in a wire dog crate with smaller wire on the bottom but no bedding, set up on a couple of 4x4's right in the coop and I would feed her some crumble a couple times a day.

I let her out a couple times a day(you don't have to) and she would go out into the run, drop a huge turd, race around running, take a vigorous dust bath then head back to the nest... at which point I put her back in the crate. Each time her outings would lengthen a bit, eating, drinking and scratching more and on the 3rd afternoon she stayed out of the nest and went to roost that evening...event over, back to normal tho she didn't lay for another week or two.

In hot weather, I put frozen water bottles under the wire crate to keep her underside cool. That always seems to help the process.

After 2-3 days of perching atop the run and pacing back and forth, I believe the broody is broken. She's nowhere to be seen. Probably running with the ladies somewhere.

I haven't yet found other nesting spots. They stick to the coops.
