Ok I have a hen that is broody. My question is every day she is switching nest boxes after the other hens lay. I tried to move her to be by herself but as soon as I moved her off the eggs she ran back in and started breaking them. Should I just take the eggs from the other box and place them in front of her? I dont get alot of eggs a day as I only have 8 hens that are laying. I gathered the ones tha she was sitting on yesterday but am wondering if these are still ok to eat. Im in Michigan and the temps where I am have only been in the 50's the last couple of days. Thanks for the help.

Do you have a rooster there to fertilize the eggs? If not, the eggs will not hatch. Continue to gather them up as you normally would. You can try and "break" your broody by moving her into unfamiliar territory. Sounds like she's really more confused than you are. Have you tried leaving eggs inside of one specific nestbox and having her sit there? Once she's sitting "hard" you can staple some cardboard there to help keep the eggs and chicks inside once they hatch.

Yes I have a Roo we kinda want her to hatch these eggs but like I said she keeps moving to the othe rbox that the other hens are laying in
