I have a broody hen that is part of a breeding trio. They have a really nice A frame hutch and run. My problem is that the broody stays in her nest all day and it is 100+ degrees. Every evening she comes out and scratches around and eats. I thought I would move her into my brooder on the porch where I have a fan.

Is this the wrong thing to do? I hate to break up her trio. But I know she is baking in the A frame nest.

I have already moved her eggs to the brooder because this is her time to come off the nest. I thought when she went back on, I would move her.

Opinions????

I've moved a couple of insistantly broody hens because they were not protected or in danger of extreme weather. I would move her myself if where she is too hot or a danger to her health.

Wow. 100+ degrees..... I just thought you don't even need the broody to sit on the eggs lol Good luck with your broody & the eggs! And you might want to make it sure she can reach the water all the time.
