Broody hen sitting on dummy eggs

Ah. Well I have a serama who did that recently when brooding for the first time. After about a week of sitting she reduced the number of times she got up from about four or five to two or three. But two of the eggs she was sitting on did die early into development and it worried me at the time that her leaving them too frequently could have caused it. Hopefully by the time you give your hen the eggs she will be leaving the nest less frequently.

Things are starting to look better for her now as she only got up of the nest once for 10 mins to get food and she got up again in the evening for a 1 min drink of water

I posted a thread a few days ago about my broody RIR hen
She is sitting on 5 golf balls at the moment (I’m waiting for my Brahma eggs to arrive) she is extremely broody except for the fact that she’s still laying eggs.... would that be because she wants more to sit on or is their another reason?
Are you positive she's still laying and it's not another bird depositing eggs in her nest when she get up to eat/drink/poop?

she’s in a separate coop beside the others, she’s let out in the morning for 15 mins. She’s usually in before I go to close the door, she growls, puffs up and pecks at me when I go near her in the nest and when she’s out with the others she drops her wings down and walks around slowly making a cluck sound (she’s been sitting for 5 days)

It's odd that she's still laying and sitting tight for most of the 24 hours of the day.
I'd remove any eggs laid after she started sitting 23/7 so you don't end up with a staggered hatch.

There is also an outdoor area attached to her broody coop where there is water and food

In the past 5 days she’s layed 2. (One today and one 2 days ago)
Where as when she wasn’t broody she was laying everyday

Luckily she’s still on golf balls and there’s another 4 days until the eggs arrive, so I can see how she does within the next 4 days to decide wether I use an incubator or not (I’d much prefer to use the hen)

Is she setting at night too?
No more poops in nest?
