my silkie has 2 babies i trew away the other eggs its day 23 and let them out today for the first time she dust bathed went searching for food then sat in anest she made in the tall grass with her babbies

Thank you! I worked out there today and I have put up a partition where they can still be close but can't hurt any of the other ones chicks...just in case.

Nope haven't yet but usally no one will mess with a momma hen with chicks they should be fine

Congrats on the hatch. they are so cute.  What are you using for those neat nesting boxes?

I got these at the TSC. I think if you don't snatch them up in spring, they sell out fast. This is in Ontario, Canada & cost $24.99 each.

Day 20 and my leghorn is officially a mama to a healthy Easter Egger and during my quick inspection,it appears a cuckoo marans and a white leghorn are on their way. So exciting! So proud of my little exception to the rule. that's so touching we lost our only white leghorn yesterday she went broody once but didn't hatch :'(
