Broody Hen Thread!

hey everyone not new here but haven't been on byc for about a year I had to move away for a while outta town an had to get rid of my birds ... hoping to get back into them this spring ... get me a few silkies as my hatchers instead of an incubator ... so much easier that way ... post pics after I get back into the swing of things

oh yeah I used to have some before I moved ill only let them hatch stuff when im ready if theyre broody when im not wantin to hatch anything they'll just sit on nothing lol ... best breed ive owned to hatch my birds

48 hours old and curious little chick is doing great and so is mama. I got her sister, Bo, her own 3 eggs today so here we go again! Bo is very interested in Harmony's chick.

Oh my gosh are you right! 6 broody silkies in the last month or so. Holy moly do they love to sit!! Good thing I sell started pullets or I'd be WAAAY overloaded. Lol. Sweetest little girls.

Makes you wonder why people buy incubators when all you need are a few silkies and all the work is done for you. Plus, it is just so darn cute to see the chicks heads poking up from mamma's feathers!

Hello everyone, not trying to get too eggcited but ........

I think I heard peeping!!!!!

I'm sure I did - sounds like just one at the moment but

I think I managed to keep my poor girl cool enough to keep those eggs going.

So fingers crossed

that little peeper makes it out of the shell.
