Broody Hen Thread!

Question I just wormed my hens and have to throw away eggs for 14 days could I just leave them in the nest to see if it would help in getting one of my hens to go broody?

I had to give her babies away today. She was upset. She was a squawking then she tried to crow. Then I gave her my sultan chick that hatched out Monday and she seems to be quieting down. Gave her an egg, too.

I risked life and limb to get this shot earlier. She has 11 chicks total. 2 Cochins and 9 Faverolles. I aslo have one trying to go broody. If she is still setting on Fri. she will get however many faverolle eggs I can collect out of 2 girls and 12 BCM eggs that I am getting.

What breed of hen is this? I look like a Faverolle but looks Wheaten as well?

Hello everyone, I love this topic, has anyone ever had more than 1 broody hen on a nest of eggs, I have 3 on the same nest :-0 it started with one hen on a very large nest of eggs then 2 of her sisters joined her, she allowed that but got very upset when a naked neck hen tried to lay an egg in the nest. Today we have had our first chicks hatch :) I can't wait to see if one hen will raise the chicks or all three or will they separate into 3 different groups, as long as they don't squash the chicks I don't care what they do, I'm just very curious
