Broody Hen Thread!

This is my firs try!!! Im so exited, im 3m pregnant and when i saw my hen trying to be a mommy i couldn't say no. I got my eggs shipped from https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...-each-still-available-for-easter-hatch-a-long

That is awsome,but i would like to make suggestion about the shavings.I would use regular pine shavings instead of cedar since it's suppose to be bad for there health.
 
Here's a pic of 3 out of the 4 chicks my broody Australorp hatched out 2 days ago. 2 are White rocks and 2 are Australorp/White Rock crosses. Then I bought 12 chicks from the hatchery and stuck them under her so she is raising 16 babies and they are doing great! She's an amazing mama!

Yea, you notice.... my husband brought me this by mistake and since is kind a far away i decided to use it in the mean while, i figure a couple of days wouldn't hurt.... have you had any personal bad experience?? or anyone else??

I have never had any problems since i just use pine shavings,but some of my friends have and they never had a problem with them but his hens don't live as long as they should.This being sed she should be alright since they have to be around it for a long time for it to affect them.
