I sure hope you post pictures when the time comes. Have you decided on a price for any turkey eggs you sell? Apparently your birds are laying eggs. I have quite the list of possible broody breeds so hopefully I will have that broody hen soon. I do have some larger cross breed bantams that should be able to set 4-6 large eggs; it is hoped they will start laying soon.

Yes I spoke with the person I got my turkeys from and she advised that the normal rate is $10 per dozen plus shipping cost. Just let me know when you're ready and you can pm me when you ready and how you want them shipped to you.

OK. Start collecting. My wife bought a couple EE hens that are laying. With a bit of luck maybe... I've a Japanese bantam that should go back to laying soon and she always goes broody after laying a dozen eggs or so. If worse comes to worse...the incubator and then move the eggs to a broody when I have one. The auction is my best bet

Ok I can do that but we won't know the level of my fertility for 21 days so I want to wait and confirm that before shipping them to you but I will start collecting. Lol when I went down to turn off the lights in the coop one of the toms was mating poor Limpy On her broody nest so the drive is definitely there just want to confirm they are fertile.

After the sixth day of brooding, candling the eggs should verify fertility.

Turkey eggs are harder to tell normally see a definite sign by day 10-14 verse 6 as they have a 28 day incubator. Hopeful when I candle them tonight day 11 I will see definite life.

Yes, quite true, The green eggs of mallards and my wife EEs are that way. Have to be patient.

frizzy bantam hen hatched 3 eggs yesterday after it snowed and a forth today so far,
all will be EEs, she has 2 more to hatch and 2 of her own from the frizzy cock. the others are from our araucana cock,
the 4 hatchlings are from 3 different types of hen, so we will have 4 types counting our orpington cross that hatched in june

summers hatch also consisted of 5 more araucana chicks, 4 of which turned out male.

found the frizzle sitting on the end of the chick feeder this morning with a pipped egg cold in the nest, her 4 hatchlings were huddled up beneath her,
upon inspection of the last 3 eggs there was another well developed EE in its shell, her own 2 eggs looked like they had died some time ago with little developement

Questions: Both my barred rock orp "Rockie" and Limpy one of my turkey hens are broody co-sharing the same very large nest box currently they are sitting on 6 eggs jointly. I want to give them more but not sure what is a good number is? Since this is there both at least with me first time sitting and I know the BR keeps stealing all but one egg from Limpy? My other question is the eggs they are sitting on are 2 days behind the ones in the incubator so I don't know if it is better to take the 6 from them and finish them in the incubator and give them however from it so that they don't have a staggered hatch? Should I split up their nest into 2 and place each one on there "own" nest the night I give them more eggs so they don't steal chicks/fight over them?
