I have a young broody hen. She wont give up on eggs that wouldnt hatch, so i switched them out for some others. Not sure if these eggs are any more fertile. All of the hens and roos are young, just maturing.
Do i keep putting eggs under her? Or can a couple of chicks snap her out of her reverie? I dont want her to be stressed, just want her to be able to be happy and be with her boyfriend, go outside like the other girls...
Should i move her out with some others? My hesitation is simply that she is extmely defensive. She's not nasty in anyway, but she becomes exquisitely agitated when she is disturbed.

I just want her t have a good life.

Giving her a couple of chicks just may snap her out of it. Try putting them under her at night, and at the same time, remove the dud eggs. Next morning, try to get up before she does to observe her. Some hens adopt the chicks and raise them and some don't, so when she is waking up and "noticing" them for the first time is when you want to be watching to make sure all goes well.
