Broody hen

Hi. I've had a lot of chickens. Hatched a lot with incubator and with broody hens, but I have a 1 year old BO and she's been clucking,nasty and ruffling her feathers for three months but won't set on eggs. I've left 8-10 eggs on her nest to try to get her to set but nothing. She keeps free ranging with other hens and still laying eggs. I'd like her to set. Any ideas. Tks

I'm afraid I don't think there is a way to "make" one go broody.

Tk you. She's been clicking, ruffling feathers and acting nasty. Wouldn't that be broody. Jay can't get her to stay on eggs. Tks

Sounds like signs of one being broody...but being broody means to sit on the eggs, which see isn't doing. She could just be mean?

Is she still laying eggs?
Or could someone be scaring her off of the eggs?

She still is laying eggs. She also was very sweet mild hen before. Followed me everywhere. It started 3 months ago. That's a long time to be clucky and nasty. Don't know
