Hello,
I had my first hen go broody.
We moved her to a cage where I placed fertilized eggs under her that I purchased.
She laid on them a few hours. I then found her where she had moved 11 eggs out of the nest box provided and into the corner of the cage. Some unfortunately had cracked from her moving them out from the lip in the nest box. She pushed out 2 in the 25 days and laid on 6 eggs until day 25 that unfortunately didn’t hatch.
We removed her from the cage and she back in the nesting boxes still being Broody.
From my understanding she needs a break to recuperate right?
Do I just jest keep trying to break her of it or do I give her more fresh fertilized eggs? The cage she was in was a large cage, but she was so glued to the nest.
I want her to be a mama too, but 25 days on a next must be hard on them I’m thinking?

I would go to my closest feed store and pick her up 3 or 4 day old chicks, put them under her tonight after dark.
Make sure there are no eggs under her at that time.
Tomorrow they will be bonded.
She should have something to show for her hard work.
This is my hen Jade who also sat on shipped eggs that failed to hatch, with 6 TSC chicks i gave her.

What are the chances of her killing them?
I’ve heard that can happen.
Thank you
