Broody Hen?

i have a satin silkie who started laying about 3 weeks ago, today she lays an egg like normal and she is refusing to get off it. the last time i had a broody hen we didnt know she was sitting until she disappeared for 2 days and then we followed her back to her nest. is this a sign she is wanting to hatch her eggs? or is she just being weird since its still new to her?

That definitely sounds like a broody wanting to hatch babies. Does she puff up and make funny noises when you mess with her?
