Broody hens and incubator

So first of all is there anyway to encourage a hen to become broody because our hens are laying fertile eggs and it might be fun to hatch them but we dont have incubator also does anybody know how to turn a freezer into an incubator

There is not a way to encourage hens to be broody. They’ll do it when they feel like it. Some breeds are more broody than others, so maybe that’ll work.

It’d probably be easier to just buy an incubator than make one, but if you’re up for it, making one is fine.

Sometimes if a hen is on the edge of being broody "forgetting" to pick eggs can help. This is not a for sure thing. Some hens are more prone to broodiness than others. Also Spring and early summer are more likely times.

Ok thanks we have hens that are supposed to be broody really easy ( new hampshire reds)
