They just won't break outside, 90's if not 100° most days. I'm leaving for vacation so they'll be in the basement with a fan for the next 4 days. Really hoping this works, they've been broody for weeks!!

Well, that is what my book says to do, so I think that should work. :thumbsup

That's a pretty good description of a typical broody breaker cage.
Not sure about the swaying aspect of broody breaking.
It doesn't need to hang, it can also just be propped up on things to get air flow underneath, I use a couple of 4x4's.

1' x 1' is a bit small.
Crate I posted above is 24"L x 18"W x 19"H
