We have a broody Silke that has been at it since Jan. Lost the eggs as they were to cold hen she would get off. 3 weeks later they were some smelly.
She is having her third try at it now in the house on 9 D'Uccle eggs due next week.
Sitting in a cage below her is a broody Silver Pheonix who also has 10 D'Uccle eggs under her as they were the only fertile eggs available. They are due in 2 weeks.
We will see what we get. We candled some and they were all developing nicely with lots of movement when we looked..

I hope you guys are going to still be around when mine finally hatch in 14 and 16 days. And then again in days after that. I'm going to be setting more tomorrow and hopefully Saturday. ( I bought eggs in the auctions again and they came today. However 2 were broken and no extras.

I don't know. All I know was that on day 21 there were 4 fuzzy heads looking at me. I did not see any of the 10 while they were wet. I don't know exactly when they hatched.

Today is very cold again. -18 outside and 20 in the barn. My broody is sitting under the heat lamp and not letting the little ones out to play. I'm thinking the broody is pretty strict about when she'll let them be seen.

I'll still be around. I like all this "chick" action.

I also have a turkey setting on 6 eggs. Can I post here too or do I need to start a new thread in the turkey area? They're due Mar 20.
