I'm loving this thread!
My broody is on her second week, and I'm getting her moved hopefully tonight to a new nest... maybe I can candle the eggs while I move them... they are dark brown (Welsummers) so might not be able to see much... but I'll try.
I guess I can count the eggs too...

I've been leaving her alone, as I know she must do 'something' right...
we had some half developed ones we found last fall... and took thinking they were just fine to eat. ahem... yukkoooo...
so, this time I'm leaving them in.
It will also help to get her out so my ranch hand will collect the 'OTHER' eggs again... argh... I just found out he's not only leaving her alone with HER eggs, but not taking ANY of them out...
what would I do if 50 eggs hatched? dang, I have four young hens laying in there, and they are all fertile! LOL!
