Broody in Winter?

We have a hen that was given to us yesterday and we were told that she was going to lay very soon. He told us that his bantams will sit on the eggs during winter time so we were wondering if they would actually hatch. Anything we can do?

Need more info. to respond to this. Breed? Age? What makes him think they will lay soon? Are you saying you want to hatch some in winter, or would rather avoid that?

Is there a rooster? No rooster, no hatching. Eggs yes, but not fertile ones.
