Ok I've been gathering eggs since Sunday, December 17. I have my most consistent broody sitting ceramic eggs in the broody box. I'll give her 10 random eggs tomorrow (Saturday, December 23) and plug in the incubator for the rest. It seems ment to be since my deceased father's birthday is January 12. This we be my first incubation. I hope to end up with 5 pullets and lots of lessons to help me be more successful this spring.

They are numbered in order of gathering #1 on Dec 17th and #41 3 hours ago.

41 eggs! I hope you end up with lots of beautiful pullets! Love the color variety you have :) Good luck hatching!
Like I said I have small hopes. We'll take whatever we get. My alpha roo became gone on Dec 17. I still have his brother. Their daddy was a Silver Laced Wyandotte and the alpha had the beautiful rose comb.
My hens are 6 Buff Orpington, 4 RIR, 1 Polish (I know I have at least 2 of her eggs because I watched them drop still wet), 2 EE (Wheaten), 3 Plymouth Rock (2 white, 1 barred), 1 Silver Laced Wyandotte, 1 Speckled Sussex, 3 Brahma (they are still pullets but I know at least one is laying).

Should be an interesting mix of chicks to say the least!

If you have different hatch dates id make another incubator and brooder. mark down the due dates. You started on the 17 so their first full day would be the 18th and their 21th day would be the 8th of jan and your last egg today would be due on the 12th of jan. Lock down is day 18. Having that many eggs and different hatche dates can cause problems with humidity and temperature because it changes fast once the chick has hatched. Not saying they will all make it but it can get complicated im not sure if this is your first time you maybe over your head i did 8 eggs on my first hatch and got four chicks i had a day difference with between them. But ill not do it like that again the temps an humidity levels changed quickly and had to help my chicks dry properly.

Nope same hatch date. Been gathering and turning, no heat yet. Using the AET to turn them tonight, been hand tilting them on the counter in egg cartons until now. Plugging in the bator in the morning.

Okay good! That makes me feel much better. I was like what is this person doing! Lol but good luck. An when i did it i always reminded my self that they can develope an die an can hatch or start hatch an die. So your on the right track of not getting. Your hopes up for all of them to hatch.

I like #34!
21 and 3 are likely the same hen as 34. My 1 EE is molting so I think I'm only getting eggs from one. I will pass on your love to the darling chick when it arrives. If it ends up a pullet that stays at my house I'll let you pick a name.

My math goes as follows. My mother asked why I was hatching so many. I replied, 41 eggs, half hatch, half die of conditions or birth defects, half are boys, half are from the submissive rooster. That leaves me 2.5 girls from the roo I don't have anymore. :lau

I honestly don't know what I will do with many more then that. Now watch my luck and they all hatch and I have a 75% female group.
