I just bought LF brahmas, cochins and wyandotte chicks. I didn't even think about it when I was picking out the chicks, but they're probably all likely to go broody on me, aren't they? Maybe not so much the wyandottes, though I have seen posts on here with broody wyandottes. So much for good egg production.

If/when they go broody, how many eggs can a large standard hen set? Bantam and standard? Anyone?

Cochins are definitely supposed to go broody. Not sure on Brahmas. My year old Wyandottes haven't yet.

My Buff Orpingtons, Langshans, and Black Australorps are giving me the broody run around.

My BA hen had 20 eggs under her. She abandoned the nest to chase down her first 2 hatchlings. Ended up outside and couldn't get the chick back up the step. (Yes, the whole broody location and undated eggs was my fault.) Moved her and she wouldn't return to setting.

Anyway, LF can handle 18+ LF chicken or around 10 duck.

Banties very in size so their clutch size would vary based on egg size.

YAY That means I can bid on more than 6-egg auctions! My bantam cochin can set a dozen of her own eggs easily, but sometimes that's just not enough...

Broody run around??? LOL...once they stick, there's not getting them off of those eggs!

Cochins, Brahmas, Langshans have ALWAYS gone broody for me. My Langshans are the tops in the broody department. I had a Wyandotte go broody, then kill all 10 of her chicks. Not just minor pecking, ripping their heads off.
