Is this the right place to post this?

I'm going to set up my broody EE with some fertile eggs and see if they hatch. Right now, she is just in the nesting box in the coop being broody.

What do I need to do this? Do I need to put her somewhere else, or just put her in a next box on the floor of the coop and wire it off once the eggs get closer to hatching?

Thanks!

That's what I did w/ my broody. I HAD to b/c she freaked out when I took her out of her "broody spot" in the nest box. She wanted to brood there, so I had to let her. When it came time for hatching, I had my husband build a little protective "gate" for her to keep the other hens out (the other hens had been laying eggs right along side her in the nest box all the time she was brooding!). I hope this helps! (truth be told: having a broody is MUCH easier than incubating and setting up a brooder w/ a lamp, etc.!)

This is the "nursery" we set up under the droppings board for her to keep the little ones in until they were a couple of weeks old. I put a small dog crate on one end for the "nest". It worked great!

Im a newbie and have never done this before. But, I put 9 eggs under my broody in the coop and finally had to separate her///Even though I marked them, I actually picked one up and ruined it, I think 2 were stepped on by the Turkeys and got eaten...in any event I can't find them....
