broody mama

my silkie hen went broody... can i just take the non fertile eggs from her and replace them with chicks in the middle of the night?? would that work out ok?? never tried it before.

Can you obtain fertile eggs to give her? I have seen some people on here letting their broody hens sit on the eggs for a week or two so that when you replace them with the chicks, the hens are not surprised.

well she was sitting on two duck eggs that i thought were "infertile" but there not! haha so shes going to get two ducklings if everything goes right!
