I have a broody cuckoo Marans hen. She is only 6 months old and broody is this normal? Will she stick the 21 days out?

it's hard to tell how good a job a young hen will do at being a mother, especially if it's her first time. if you have fertile eggs let her give it a shot, maybe buy an incubator if she decides to get up off her nest early to avoid losing any chicks. from what I've heard though, marans usually make great moms, i wish you the best of luck!

Yes I have 4 roosters! And yes I have an incubator with some other eggs in which are due to hatch any day now. So if she breaks broody they can go in there

Yeah end of day 3 and hasn’t moved yet soooo... all good so far. Otherchicks are hatching in the incubator as we speak

so she laid her first egg at 12 weeks old? pretty sure that is impossible for a marans..or any pullet?
