My Cuckoo Marans laid a lovely dark speckled egg today around noon, and never got of the nest. After dark, I took her off and she walked around a bit. I just looked, and she's back on the nest. I have them on lights until about 8:30pm.
Do I have the starts of a broody on my hands? I'm not entirely sure of her age, but she's been laying for about 2 months. Does it make sense to take her from the nest and put her on a perch after dark? I would love a broody in about 2 months, but not right now.
