Hi!
I recently put 2 fertile eggs under each of my broody silkie girls. Just now I went to check on them and one of them didn't have an egg completely pushed under her and it was fairly cold. The other had done the same thing but the egg wasn't as cold.
I was wondering, will the eggs be okay? Also, will my girls keep doing this? I only have 4 eggs and I don't want to have any less.

Any information/ advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The eggs should be O.K. I've had broodies let their eggs go ice cold only to hatch them out fine a few days later and one pushed an egg out while it rained. It got wet and was ice cold, but hatched out fine 2 days later. Do as the above posters suggested and make sure she has a nice bowl shaped nest. That'll help at lot.

I noticed my current broody pushing eggs partially out when it was so hot here a week or so ago. Yeah, it bugged me but I really try to let momma do her own thing. I find if I start interferring, I have to keep interferring and I just don't want to do that. Last night two eggs have tiny pips, I was suprised cause day 21 isn't until Sunday.............we'll just see!
