Broody off of Nest

Can you clarify why, the chick and mom have access to food and clean water. And the baby spends most of the time under or next to her mother when the are not pecking around
What I should have said was your broody Will not likely stay broody for all the eggs to hatch if its s staggered batch.
After your broody has chicks, she will soon switch gears from broodyness to chick Mom.
Good luck!
I hope all your eggs hatch within the next couple days:thumbsup

Thanks for the wishes, I don’t expect all of them to hatch I’d be happy if anymore do. We aren’t farmers or anything. These chickens chose us one day and started having babies so we do our best to protect them

Update: the broody hen stayed in the eggs for four more days and we had no more hatches. This morning she decided she was done with the batch. Her lone baby is doing well and is eating, drinking, and foraging and I check them atleast once a day for pasty but.( I lost one of my previous chicks to pasty butt/prolapsed vent) now we need to keep her protected from the hawk till she is big enough.
