I just got back to the net. Thanks Kitty for posting the link to Zane's story. And thank you, Zookeeper, for caring about my boy. The good news on Zane is that he's been eating like a horse all day long! I have no idea why, but his head has been in the feedbowl every time I looked at him. He's got a voracious appetite, so maybe that's a good sign, at least. Lorelei is still walking around, but she isn't laying, and she was on the roost at 5 p.m., way before anyone else went inside.
More Olivia & Babies pics. Sorry if some are grainy from the low light. The first one is Hawkeye & Lexie's baby-see? BOY, dontcha think? Probably one of the biggest headspots on one of the lightest babies I've ever hatched, LOL.
You're welcome and Awwww. They are adorable. I'm so glad that you have one more from Hawkeye. Maybe one day he can fill his Dad's shoes and help his older brother Zane with the flock!
Well, if Zane does recover, he'll have his little brother Dutch and this little guy as well. I have plenty of girls for three roosters. If, God forbid, I lose Zane, I considered maybe keeping a nice dark Rhode Island Red rooster from the bunch I hatched from Julie if there's one I particularly like, but that remains to be seen. OR, I could get one from Kate, but that one would be a sibling to most of my girls I have. I like that Zane, Dutch and this new little guy are all Hawkeye and Lexie's babies and not related to any of the girls, except, of course their own mother, Lex.
