Today (luck of the Irish, please be with me!) is hatch day by my calender. My eggs/chicks may not know this, but it is. When and if they begin to hatch, what should I look for from my broody? What I mean is, will she give me any indication that they are ready to hatch? Will she get off the nest? Will she stay there? Will she get up & dance a cha cha?

What should I watch for? What should I expect?

    Thank you in advance.

Lucky you! You'll hear peeping under her and they will come out and momma will peck them back under![IMG]

You should expect mama to take care of them.

Good luck and (soon) congratulations. You are a godmother.

My little broodies started making the most contented little noises when theirs hatched. And I think they were smiling. Seriously.

It's 2:20pm and still nothing from the nest [IMG] I am hopeful that at least one of the five eggs she setting on will hatch.

I swear, I don't have a fingernail left to chew on!
