my little leghorn has decided to become broody on the wooden eggs that i put in the coop to try to prove its a " safe nest". well she wont come out to eat or drink or anything ! I dont want to force her off the fake eggs but im not sure what to do ! any help ? they are not currently free range because we have alot of loose dogs and hawks around for some reason.

When broody, they only get off the nest every couple days or so to eat, drink and take a huge poo....

If concerned, do what we did... bring her in the house!
Ours are happy, healthy and doing quite well (since November!) in a 20gallon tote... just add pine shavings, water & food-- then a window screen over the top. They eventually get VERY spoiled and friendly... our OE even lets us play with her while she's on the nest!

After a week and a half you can get some chicks, stuff under her and you will have a very happy hen and you wont have to take care of the chicks.
