I have a year old Buff who gives elongated eggs. She has just stopped laying and is sitting in the coop day and night. We take her out daily and look her out so she will eat. She fluffs up and growls. What can we do for her?

Can she walk? Or when she walks does she have a normal posture? Often hens that are eggbound walk like a penguin, very upright. They will appear unwell and distressed and lethargic.

By your description she sounds like she might be broody, but I would hate for you to overlook any sign of an actual illness.

Here is an article with some different ways to try and break a broody. Every hen is different and some respond better to different methods than others.
