Broody or mean?

So far theres 8 real and 2 fakes. I'm hoping she is just gathering. Shes one of my favorites that I hatched out last year.

She’s very pretty. Eight seems large. Is this her first time possibly broody? My girl started with a smaller clutch of four which only two hatched and now she’s moved to five this time. Maybe she’s just ambitious and wants to collect all her pretty eggs and keep you from getting them lol.

First time. If she does be broody I'll take a majority out from under her and put them in my incubator. I was hoping if I left them there it would encourage her.

Hens don’t like their eggs being stolen lol. I would leave them there for a few more days, sometimes it takes awhile for the momness to actually kick in even after laying the eggs.

She is pecking at you because she is protecting her eggs. If she was broody she will puff out, make funny noises and will not leave the nesting box. I’ve had a lot of girls go broody and I would break them each time cause I did not have a roo so no fertilize eggs. Also you said she laid an egg, broody hens do not lay during their broodiness.
