Yes, I warned the chickens to stay clear of the duck! I also told them I was sorry, but I had to put him in their house for the night.
Actually, I don't think he really bothered them too much. He seemed to just stay to his self watching his lady through the fence.
I kept going out and checking on her all day yesterday and I ended up finding a dead baby in the middle of the pen.
I didn't know if it had just died or if she rolled it out there and killed it. So I made her get off the nest and I took all her eggs to a friends house and she put them in the bator for me.
Now I'll know for sure! The next one should hatch sometime today. I hope they'll be okay.
Do you guys think I should give them back to her after they hatch or not? My friend says probably not, that's what I was thinking too.
It would be so sweet seeing a momma duck and her babies running around the yard!
