My hen's comb and wattles have become lighter. She has been making a wall of nesting material to keep the eggs warm. She also has been plucking more of her breast feathers. And is a little more agressive.

Sounds like your broody is doing her job! I hope you get those spring chicks soon!

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Sounds like you have a hen that is well on her way to going broody. Are you going to let her hatch eggs? Here is a nice Learning Center article on broody hens www.backyardchickens.com/a/broody-hens

Good luck with your poultry raising adventures, and I hope you find everything you need to know. Don't forget to take a look at BYC's very useful learning center (If you haven't already)! The learning center as well as the forum should answer your questions! Glad to have you here!

No problem she is doing what a broody does. She may even growl and puff up and peck you if you try to come near her nest. That is also normal. Usually a broody won't leave the nest to eat, drink and poo. You have to make them leave -at least once a day.
