i have a consistently broody silkie and once again hunkered down. i am in the midst of building a new broody pen....but with rain etc i am thinking a solid week away from done. she has been really seriously sitting for 4 days as of today. how long can she sit before i give her eggs ...wanting opinions! i had one broody for4 weeks and could not break her, then gave her eggs and she was DEF over it by the end...she hung in and hatched most...but as soon as the first hatched she gave it up...i saved them...but rather not put a hen thru that..it is a long time! SO, safely how long to y'all think????

Let her sit on eggs right now, and when your new pen is finished, simply move whole operation them. Not sure of your current situation, and if possible to do it this way.

i have consedered that for sure...i have never had a problem moving them either but one of these times i will...have seen hens throw the eggs all over etc....that would be horrible. SO, if i ordered eggs online....would get by end of next week latest....so would be total time 41/2 weeks at most sitting...ok you think????
