Broody question

The BO hens that I have had over the years will go broody at least once every year. With young ones it often happens at the worst time of the year. Australorps are the same way, sometimes being broody more than once a year. It just depends on the individual hen.

I have a BO hen named Belle that has started going broody at the exact same time every time every year, it’s been going on for 2 years now. Hoping she’ll do it again.

I have a EE like that! She’s been broody 4 times and will be 2 in the spring. She’s laid 2-3 eggs this year.

This one went broody several times before I let her hatch....weaned them at 4 weeks and went broody 7 more times again over the summer, every 2-3 weeks. SMH.

I gave away an Australorp pullet this summer that was broody for the 4th time before she was a year old. Enough is enough!

oh my! Hawk is a good mama. Keeps her babies with her for months.
