So here, I think, is a new one. I have both hens and rabbits free-ranging in my back yard. Tonight, when I went to collect my eggs from the chicken coop, I found one of my female rabbits sitting in the nesting box. I reached underneath her, and sure enough, she was sitting on 4 eggs, keeping them warm. It would be funny, but I'm pretty sure she's planning to have a litter of bunnies in the chickens' favorite nest box, which I don't think the chickens will be too happy about. Any suggestions?

How long is a rabbit's gestation? I would say if she's not due soon and you want baby chicks see if the rabbit will stay on the eggs. That would be pretty funny, as well as different.

We have a male rabbit in with our hens. This morning I went out to feed and he was sitting on a nest. My broody hen went out for breakfast and bunny was babysitting lol
