Broody Rooster

My rooster is sitting on eggs !!!

Has anybody else rooster do that ??

Roosters will often get in nests to "prepare" them for the hens. I have never heard of a rooster broody though.

My silkie rooster will be two. he still sit on them off and on !! I do have toads, but they are now out yet (too cold)

I raised a chick from the day it hatched. She was s so sweet that I thought I would put her in with my new hatched chicks when she was just a but older and she to them right in. So, I gave her another 20 to raise as well. Come to find out , she is a he. He is now raising another two chicks and he just loves being a momma. So odd but the best chuckle I've ever had. She is an F1 I breed myself.

I had a silkie cockerel like that, until my dog ate him. He was a sweetie and loved babies.
