Anyone have a sex-link go broody on them ? I have a red Sex-link that had been acting weird for a few days, laying eggs in odd places among other things. Well tonight I found her in the nest box in the late evening. Thought maybe she wasn't well, so we got her out she wasn't much for eating, drank just a little and in spite of the fact she was out of the pen she just stood there. So we put her in an empty nest, gave her a half dozen eggs, to see what she would do. She dutifully arranged them, fluffed up her feathers and settled down on them. Anybody need chicks ??

I've never had a red sex link hen go broody, but a friend of a friend has a ton of them and many of his go broody. (like 10 out of about 35) As far as I know they hatch chicks... so just let her be with her eggs and see how it goes!

I have a black sex-llink that has gone broody, she is two and this is the first time, trying to break her of as I have no more room for chicks in the coop

I've had a Black Sexlink go broody on me about 4 years ago. She raised my 4 year old EE's which I'm never going to get rid of. Especially Marshmellow. She won 1st and Grand Champion at the fair last year.

And a friend of mine did have one of his Red Sexlink hens' go broody on him. Raised 13 chicks. Five of which were roo's and the other eight were pullets.
