I bought 3 Ameraucana chicks yesterday at our co-op grange.... they are one week old and i have a broody silkie hen who has been sitting on an empty nest for weeks...so i stuck them under her and they took to one another no problem... i wasn't sure it would work with the chicks being over 3 days.... it did!!! Just wanted to say 'THANK YOU' to all the post that helped answer my questions on this!
One more question....how do i tell if theses are Ameraucana and not Easter Eggers? was told the grange calls them Ameraucana ... they all have puffy cheeks and are super cute...i have a light grey/blue one, a golden one and a darker golden/brown chick-muck color one.... they look more like the EE's pictures to me :)
I was just wondering what the difference is....thanks~
