Broody tries to hatch Tupperware container

When I was much younger than today we had wooden eggs we would slip under the broody at night and remove an egg if she had in fact laid one. This went on till it was time to add to the chicken stock. We would then slip in at night and remove the wooden eggs (6 or 8) and replace them with fertile eggs which the ol' hen would sit on till they hatched. We usually bought 50 chicks and put them in the brooder box but is sure was much cheaper and had better results if they were from our own broody hens. They survived better and the ol' hens sure did a good job of raising them. I plan to raise all my meat stock with brood hens, turned lose in the yard they'll clean up all the bugs and do a good job of tilling the soil around the fruit trees and such. Here in Costa Rica it is much better to have the brood hen taking care of warming the young ones than a light bulb, much better heat regulation.
