broody turkey... and cant find one! UPDATE! i found her! --PICS--

she has been there and is still setting now, on 2 eggs, is she broody? shes laid more than just two eggs but only two in this nest since her other nest has a broody bourbon on it. would she brood only 2 eggs?

Since she already laid alot in another nest, maybe not. But she is def. broody!

okay so i went out to lock up the chickens and she was in the trees roosting, i think she is staying out on the nest all day to protect them from the squirells, becuase i found a turkey eggshell today that had been eaten by squirells, and she will brood once she has a bigger clutch

If she's already laid a bunch in another nest and the other one took over, she may not lay anymore if her hormones tell her it's time to sit. I have had one lay about 4 eggs in a nest, then decide after a day or two that she didn't want to sit on them anymore, then eventually start a whole new nest. Fortunately, I have small incubator, so I stuck the eggs in it. You'd be surprised at how long turkey eggs will stay viable after the hen has left the nest.

well she hasnt really started setting if she returned to the trees to sleep... and she laid one the past 3 days except a sqriell got one so she has two

You may have a racoon problem. They will cleanout a turkey nest and leave the broken shells.

You may have to buy eggs online and put them under her if she continues to have nest raiders...

well last night and tonight she staid on the nest, she now has six eggs, her 3, the two in another nest, and one in my broody bourbons nest that started late
