I have a Turkey hen brooding who did really well up till a day or so ago, she came out to stretch/eat/drink/poop and would go back to her eggs in no time. But now she leaves the eggs for basically the whole day but sets on them all night and till later morning. She is still clearly broody and candling the eggs yesterday while she was off they were still alive, but I'm worried they won't make it to hatch since she stays off them for so long, they are 25 days along, so I'd hate for them to barely not make it.
I guess my official question is, do I move them to an incubator and give her other eggs till they hatch in the incubator (because she already has made it clear she isn't going to be fooled by a missing egg) or is this normal so let her keep them. I've only ever had broody chickens and they would only leave for MAYBE and hour a day.
Other information, it's been about 50-60 degrees through most of the day, she is 2-3 years old but I've only had her since last August, she is free ranged.
