Good morning!
I have a broody hen that had been sitting on one egg for quite awhile. She was on the nest when we first looked at buying the farm in late August. I checked the egg about a week ago and found it to be non-viable. I took out all the nest material a few days ago so she is now out and about more. Problem is, she has been on the nest so long her toe nails are really long and when she walks it is bending the toes sideways. Do I need to clip them or will they eventually wear down? Will the twisting of the toes hurt her?
Thanks for any input you may have.
