My Wellsummer, Cocoa, is giving me a run for my money with her broody behavior. I've been trying to nip it in the bud and take her off the nest every time I see her digging in. This seems to work for a while and then she goes back again, and we do it all over again. I noticed a large bald spot under her wing the last time I took her off the nest. I know she was plucking her breast, but is plucking under the wing normal? Do you think she's doing this to herself? She's the leader of the pack and the chickens aren't pecking each other. I'd just like to know if this is common or should I address this somehow? Thanks in advance for your excellent advice, chicken lovers!

broodies will pluck anywhere they can to get feathers to line their nest.
