Glenda's babies are 3 days old now. Here are a few pics. Three barred EEs (two blue, one black) and one black Orpington.

Aaaaawwww! I love seeing a momma hen with the babies! I wish one of our girls would go broody.

I have my first broody sitting on 7 eggs. I can hardly wait
til there are babies for her to care for.

Thank you for sharing the photos, Speckledhen

Oh Cyn, those are so cute. I am so tempted to let my poor Cloud, araucana broody sit on some eggs. She is a determined mama. She broods for a month or two on air, breaks for a few weeks, then right back at it. I worry about how she'll do with chicks in the flock though, as I have no where to separate her right now to raise babies. I bet this would make her happy to no end though.

I'm trying to break up my Tux now. She's been broody about 25 days now on air and I just have nowhere to put her other than the wire dog kennel on top of Zane's cage. That's where she is on a few shavings, no nest. At least she is out of that deep, dark, hot nest in the main coop where I can see her.
