Broody with no babies, what to do with her?

For goodness sake! Checked her this morning, still sitting. Drove 45 minutes away to pick up two chicks for her. We get them all settled in the brooder until their debut tonight. Go out to check on the animals and she is lounging with the rest of the flock in their favourite dust bath spot. The eggs are completely cold. Cmon broody, help me out here! I chased her back to the coop and she jumped back on her eggs. Grrrr, she better mother these little stinkers.

Craziness. I hope you told her that it's too late to quit. Sit tight little hen!

I had the same issue with my silkie. I put her inside the house in a dog kennel. I gave her food and water which she didn’t touch, so I took her outside for one hour each morning and one hour each night. While she was outside I place a electric blanket folded up in a pillow case on to the eggs so they stayed warm and the bedding wouldn’t stick to it. That way she stayed healthy. I had a successful hatch. 4 babies. Then I continued to keep them inside until they were a week and the babies were hardy and moved them outside into the chicken house. I do have a wall heater in my coop and her and her babies stayed there.

One of the chicks is very sleepy and has been getting sleepier throughout the day. Seems to fall asleep anywhere. Think I should still put them both out tonight? They haven’t really drank or ate yet today. I dipped their beaks and the perky one pecked at the feed but that’s about it.

That’s concerning :(
Chicks should be eating but if they’re day old or two I guess they might not be hungry because of absorbing the yolk? Idk...
They will sleep and eat throughout the day if they’re under a heat lamp.
Is the broody back on the eggs?
I hope this works! :fl

I would monitor them very closely.

I’m snuggling with them while watching tv tonight until my hens are are all in bed. I think I’m going to give it a go. I thought about sending the yellow out tonight and monitoring the smaller one in the brooder but it would probably do better with a buddy.

They are both snuggled in a toasty heated blanky cave.
